What is the Heirloom Portrait Experience?
The Heirloom Portrait Experience is a curated photography session designed to capture your family’s most cherished moments with timeless elegance. Every detail is intentionally crafted, from wardrobe styling and location selection to the final reveal of stunning, museum-quality artwork.
What makes heirloom portraits different from regular sessions?
Heirloom portraits are designed to be more than just photographs—they are tangible memories, beautifully preserved in fine art prints and custom frames. Each portrait is crafted with the utmost care and intention, ensuring it becomes a treasured keepsake for generations to come.
How long does the Heirloom Portrait Experience take?
The experience typically includes three stages: a pre-session consultation, the photography session itself, and a private reveal and ordering appointment. The entire process is thoughtfully paced to ensure you feel relaxed, prepared, and excited at every step.
Can I customize my heirloom Portrait collection?
Absolutely! During your reveal session, we’ll walk through custom options for frames, finishes, and sizes. Whether you envision a stunning wall display or a curated keepsake album, your portraits will be tailored to your vision.
How do I prepare for my Heirloom Portrait Session?
We provide a detailed style guide and consultation to help you choose wardrobe options that complement the timeless feel of heirloom portraits. Our studio also offers a selection of elegant dresses and accessories for your convenience.
When will I receive my heirloom artwork?
Once your selections are finalized during the reveal appointment, it typically takes 4–6 weeks for your heirloom pieces to be professionally printed, framed, and ready for display. We handle everything, so you can simply enjoy the experience.
When is the best time to schedule my maternity session?
We recommend scheduling your maternity session between weeks 29 and 36 of your pregnancy to capture that beautiful glow and perfectly round belly.
What should I wear for my maternity session?
Opt for a light-fitting dress accompanied by comfortable sandals. Avoid tight clothing that may leave marks, like elastic waistbands or socks. We are happy to guide you through the styling process.
What should I bring for my maternity session?
We recommend bringing outfits that make you feel beautiful and comfortable—like a lovely maxi dress, jeans paired with a soft tank top, or a form-fitting gown to highlight your baby bump. Light, flowing fabrics and neutral tones photograph beautifully. We suggest avoiding baggy maternity clothes as they may not photograph well.
When should I schedule my newborn session?
The ideal time for a newborn session is within the first 10 days after birth. During this time, your little one is still very sleepy, making it easier to capture those serene and beautiful moments.
What should we wear for family sessions?
For family sessions, we suggest wearing plain clothing in white, black, or gray tones. This creates a timeless look that keeps the focus on your family’s connection. Avoid logos or distracting patterns. And it's always smart to bring a change of clothes for little ones—accidents happen!
How should I prepare my baby for the newborn session?
Make sure your baby is well-fed and relaxed before the session. Babies are typically photographed in just a diaper to highlight their natural beauty, but you’re welcome to bring cherished blankets, sentimental outfits, or any meaningful objects to make your session even more special.
How long do sessions typically last?
Maternity and family sessions usually last about an hour, while newborn sessions can take up to two hours to allow for feeding, comforting, and those perfect sleepy moments.
Do you provide props and accessories?
Yes, our studio is equipped with various props, including toys and blankets, to keep little ones entertained and comfortable during the session.
Can we include pets in our family session?
Absolutely! Pets are part of the family, and we would love to include them in your portraits. Just let us know ahead of time so we can prepare.
What if my child is fussy or uncooperative?
We understand that little ones sometimes have off days. We take our time, allow for breaks, and create a relaxed environment so your child feels comfortable. Our goal is always to capture genuine moments, even if it takes a little extra patience.
How do we view and select our photos?
About two weeks after your session, we will schedule a private viewing appointment at the studio where you can select your favorite images and decide on heirloom artwork options.
Do you offer payment plans?
Yes, we want everyone to have the opportunity to own beautiful heirloom portraits. We offer flexible payment plans to make that possible.
Can sessions be rescheduled?
Of course! Life happens, and we’re happy to work with you to find a new date that fits your schedule.
What if there’s Severe weather for during my Studio Sessions?
For studio sessions, weather typically isn’t a concern unless severe conditions, like hazardous storms or tornado warnings, arise. Your safety is our top priority, and we’re always prepared to adjust as needed to keep you and your family safe.
How far in advance should I book my session?
We recommend booking as early as possible—ideally 1–2 months in advance—to secure your preferred date and ensure we have enough time to plan the perfect session for you.
Can I bring personal heirlooms or family keepsakes to incorporate?
Absolutely! We encourage you to bring any sentimental items—whether it’s a cherished quilt, a vintage locket, or a family heirloom. These special touches add layers of meaning to your portraits and help tell your family’s unique story in a beautiful way.
